This is long overdue and a set of photos from last week's #RedBarCrew when @dcandaux himself arrived to #NYC and we were the first to play with his debut timepiece from his own #atelier, the #1740 #TheFirst8 🏆 David, a 3rd generation master #watchmaker born & raised in the #ValleedeJoux with a career spanning 20 years working for several world renowned brands, decided to consolidate his expertise and develop his own Atelier d'Horlogerie de Precision. - When two good friends vouched for the man & his brand, Sébastien Chaulmontet, former head of movement design for Arnold&Son & Angelus and author of Chronographs for Collectors (who accompanied him to NY) and watch veteran, @thehorophile, I knew i had to take a look for myself and I was not disappointed 😍 - The First 8 is innovative with 3 patents & 8 design registrations but also pays homage to tradition watchmaking & decorating using techniques only done by hand and only raw, untreated materials. The inclined calibre, the inclined flying #tourbillon at a 30° angle, a regulating organ and escapement entirely designed, developed and crafted by David which is an extremely rare achievement and so much more makes this a very important horological timepiece this year.
