Break Me (Eden) *rolls away from your perfection)

Break Me; an angsty drabble about our characters.

{ψ}→              “Eden.” She spoke his name with closed eyes, reverent in the sweetness of the sound as it just as quickly rusted into bitterness on her sinful tongue. “Do I scare you?”                        Monotony perused her voice, though she begged him for an answer. Her bones slumped delicately against the bay window’s wooden frame, as lightly as they possibly could to hold what was left of her balance. Ray knew for a solid fact that she was tainting the woodwork with scarlet. Ruining this glorious feature of his beautiful home. Eden’s beautiful home, she thought, with his massive fucking windows. His omniscient fucking windows. Can he see everything from here? Everything for what it truly is? Can he see—                      “I asked you a question.” Ray’s voice severed in two as it rose, a strangled gasp escaping mid-inquiry. “I said, do-I-scaaaare-you?” With the beat of each snipped word, bar the middling operative verb, Ray detached herself from the window’s edge and advanced on the elfin man. Flame pierced her eyes in the stalk, flashing amber to hazel, to amber to hazel, to terrible, riveting amber. She caught him by the collar, bloodstained fingertips marking where she gripped and hustled him toward the nearing wall. Ray’s was a face borne animalistic, painted in carnage from the sanguine liquid she had not dared to wash away from her previous kill— because she wanted to show him just how much innocence was left in his beautiful little world.                         “Because I ought to, y’know. Because I’m a reject from your Godly Mother’s kingdom. Because I’m the beast that lurks in the shadows, waitin’ for someone… as hopeful as you…”                         Regardless of her fullness, her nose dragged along his jaw, drawing a tightening from her own; unnh— he might be celestial but his vessel was still made f l e s h.                                 “…to eat up whole.”                          Inhaling everything that was Eden’s wiry little form, his comely little features, Ray felt her breath catch in her throat— another gasp, strangling to escape but dying in vain of itself. Tears brimmed in the rimmings of her eyes as bloody, bloody fingers sought out his dark locks. Drawing Eden’s face with a newfound trepidation toward her, the tears that spilled and the shoulders that seized all seemed to apologize not only for her threat and rashness but for her being.                          ”But I can’t!” she sobs— sobs, a thing not only Eden has never seen her do, but a thing she can barely recall ever doing herself, “I can’t destroy you, I can’t devour you, be-because what if you’re m-my last shot at…!”                          Ray can’t even conclude that thought; it’s treacherous. Too much danger. Ice too thin, water too frigid; because destroying Eden, she thinks, could destroy her last shot at salvation.
