“Oh wow. And here I thought I would know more about the humans than you, an obvious alien. How silly of me. Congratulations. Since you’ve so easily figured out the rules of engagement, maybe you can answer the age old question: what is the meaning of life?” She was laying it on thick. Sarcasm was the tool of her trade. She could manipulate it at will and did so often. Especially with the monkey men. They were so easy to rile up it was ridiculous, often serving as a source of entertainment for her. Wasn’t that what her life was all about currently? Finding the next big thing to fulfill the fun quota.
Still, he apologized, so... There was that. Assholes didn’t normally apologize for being assholes. Mostly because they didn’t know they were one. But it seemed the guy before her knew it well enough. Of course, he might not come right out and call himself that, but she would put the label to his name regardless.
“Do I appear dangerous? Well damn. And here I went through all the effort of putting on my nonchalant face this morning.” The guy was obviously something more than what he appeared. He was an alien, quite blatantly, but his power fluctuated in a way that told there was something further buried deep. She probably shouldn’t prod him more than she was, but sometimes her mouth got carried away.
Sometimes creatures like him had to be called as they were. And sometimes they deserved a little shit smeared, smart alecky dialect.
Was he actually that full of himself or was there something she was missing? That wasn’t out of the question. She stuck with her own business, ignoring everything else.
“Is that supposed to mean something to me?” She’d never heard his name before. Was he some alien ambassador of peace or something?
“You’re the one who stormed up to me all guns ablaze and you expect me to give you my personal information?” She was a street kid before she was mutilated by Gero into what she eventually became. And on the street, names were power. “You can call me Boss for all I care.” She should have thought about that one before. Boss was definitely an adequate name for the entirety of the world to call her, as she grind them under her heel.
“Hey, if you’re buying, I won’t complain.”
