Before Cynthia left for the bright lights of Broadway, I spent some time with this petite powerhouse - just us girls talking about life, love, fashion and of course vintage! Here is some of what we talked about: Q: What does being a goddess mean to you? A: I think being a Goddess comes with great responsibility, I don't think it's just about the way you look or the clothes you wear, but the kind of person that you are. I think it's about encouraging other women to be confident and to excel in the things that they do and to help others. I hope I'm able to live up to the duties of a goddess! Q:Why does vintage fashion appeal to you? A: I think vintage fashion appeals to me because there are certain cuts in certain fabrics that just aren't used any more that for me, compliment the way the body looks. They make me feel confident, they are full of history and they help to achieve style in a way that, I personally, think that is hard to get sometimes wearing the new clothes of the day. There is something also quite cool about wearing a piece of clothing that was for someone else at some point that fits like a glove now for you, I own a pair of tailored red trousers, that were originally made, I believe in the 50s for someone who's waist size is exactly the same as mine and the length is perfect so they fit almost like they've been made just for me. Q: How would you describe your fashion style? A: I think I could probably describe my style as chic and structured. I may use colour-blocking from time to time, I will probably always use a heel, but I'm probably not going to use floral very often. There is sometimes, however, a dash of Afrocentrism because I'm Nigerian and I can't help myself and print is way too much fun.
