mildly unrelated, but i was like...three when that music video came out and i distinctly remember wondering why the fuck this ugly necklace was so important and heartfelt and being like 'WHAT OLD LADY WHAT IS HAPPENING' because i was a toddler and titanic came out the year i was born. i didn't even watch titanic until i was like 13. essentially: in 2000 britney spears introduced me to an important plot device of a movie i wouldn't even watch for another decade.
