"Lad," Coran whispered, not touching, but his tone as good as a caress. "How can we help?"

Lance gave a small shake of his head.

"You c-can't," he mumbled, words obscured by his knees. "I… I…."

"You are hurt," Coran said gently and Lance stiffened under Hunk's hand. "Please, lad, let us help you."

"You can't," Lance repeated, voice small. "I… I did th-this."

"And together we can fix it," Coran said softly. He placed a hand carefully on Lance's knee. "You are not alone anymore, Lance."

You are focusing only upon one word in your role of Voltron. 'Leader.' The word you should be focused on is 'team.' Voltron is a team effort, Shiro. The head, although in the top position, cannot exist without the arms and legs. It is the same with its Paladins. Yes, they need a leader to guide them, but the Paladins are a team.

Coran’s Weapon: Bow or staff?

Hey y’all, looking for some outside opinions. If Coran were to engage in a fight (and by posting this yes, he is going to be fighting and I’m sure y’all can guess which fic :D :D :D) what would be his weapon of choice? I’ve narrowed it to two and my reasons for each. Bow (and arrow): Obviously an Altean version of this so arrows would be beams of light rather made by “pulling” on the string. I feel like this would fit Coran’s personality of often being in the background but still offering support. Using a bow takes great precision and steady hands and aim, all of which Coran displays. 

Staff (bo): A bo staff is primarily a defensive weapon and Coran is not the type of person who actively seeks to hurt others. He would use his strength to protect and disarm, which the staff is good for. It’s hard to master though, which would lend again to Coran’s great skill. Also, end of season two Allura fights with a staff and I sort of love the idea of Coran having taught her ♥
