Just read The Greatcost by Helen Dunmore, which although advertised as 'a perfect ghost story', left me feeling quite disappointed by the ending. The premise is interesting and enough to buy and read to the end, in hope of a surprising twist, however no such shock is in store, only a slow and unmoving tale of a lonely wife and a 'ghost' in the form of an RAF pilot. Easy and short read but more could have been done with the characters and storyline.
