Mendoza has in his possession. A KATANA 😭 and he 😭 never even uses it
Even crazier is how it belonged to the daimyo who offered to make him the most powerful man in the entire Japan. And Mendoza said nah and took his sword 😭 ok Zia stole the sword. But out of the whole team, Mendoza is the only one who can actually use it. But he doesn't....
Okay wait imagine Gaspar wanting to duel with Mendoza and he’s like hmm you know what? We didn’t get to fight last time on the Esperanza so let’s do it now. Only…
Gaspar: finally! We get to fight for real this time! Are you ready to lose, Mendoza?
Mendoza: *unsheathes the katana* whatever
Gaspar: but that’s- that belongs to- the- how did you- where did you- WHAT??
He’s so shocked and so the fight just. Doesnt happen
Gaspar: I can’t believe it…. You killed the daimyo and claimed the sword for yourself…. How is that even possible…. You’re not even that strong… You’re shorter than me, for goodness sake!
Mendoza: actually, I’m not the one who got the sword
Gaspar: Then who did????
Mendoza: Zia
Anyway cue existential crisis from Gaspar cause he’s convinced that somehow Zia killed the daimyo. I mean she didn’t but no one’s gonna tell him that. Obviously
But let’s get back to the main idea of this post. The katana probably isn’t the only thing the team is dragging around with them during their trips.
Since the team lives in the condor.... I'm assuming they have accumulated a lot of stuff in their spare room (which could be used for storage). So here's what I think is in there:
• katana (gathering dust)
• food (almost always gone, eaten by Pedro and sancho) and water obviously
• LOTS of bird feathers (from pichu. They keep trying to get rid of them but they end up everywhere)
• consequently they'll need a broom for the feathers
• spare clothes that are exact replicas of their normal clothes. Cause I think it's funny
• buckets and baskets for various purposes
• random rocks Tao collected
• withering flowers Esteban picked
• stowaway animals, like idk lizards and stuff
• lots and lots of books and loose papers
• unfinished inventions
