Tulip: For your birthday, what kind of cake doyou ask for?
Haha! My birthday is on the 28thof this month. Well, after my 16th birthday I never asked for cake. The last cake was full of fruit, icing and nuts. I remember pulling out a large sliceof peach while my father was holding the cake. He asked if I liked it. I remembersmiling and getting back to my room as I had just got back from an evening classfor my O/Levels. Celebrating my birthday was more of a private affair and in solitudedue to it falling on a vacation month here. I’ve never known a loud one, with friends.Never been surprised. Maybe I’ll never know? Because I’ve never known the kind of cake I shouldtaste.
Hibiscus: Did you ever play an instrument? If sowhat?
Hmm. I enjoy the sound of piano inan empty room. So once a few friends and I were gathered at the assembly hall. Since thepiano stood there open and inviting, I started playing a tune. It just spilled from my fingers.I felt good, as if tickled so I laughed. The sun blinked outside.
Marigold: Do you listen to what’s on the radio?
No. The Lankan radio channels don’tplay good or my kind of music in my opinion. But I have had listened to it duringschool. In the van until we got home. We’d beg the driver to turn it on. He was a good man. But I do listen to my neighbor play bass once in a while. It’s soothing.
Daisy: How old were you when you had your first kiss?
I was 16. It felt absent.
Jasmine: What color looks best on you?
Ithink I’ll go with red. And also grey and rose gold. I get told red fitsme on a drizzly afternoon, broadens my frame carrying little hints of souland self-reveals in this enigmatic way, at the same time humanly articulate.
Thoroughly enjoyed this. :)
