“I dunno if there’s another song out there that gets more groans outta people than Rick Astley’s Never Gonna Give You Up. Like, would we have even hated the song as much if we weren’t constantly getting rickrolled online? I’m trying something a bit different this week. If it’s alright, I asked a few buddies from the jazz band clubs to help me with this one. We’re gonna make you guys love the song again. At least, that’s the plan.”

Week 013-New Directions Assignment (bad reputation)

Despite living in Texas, I’m often feel like I am a rarity when it comes to liking country music. So in a way you could say the whole genre has a bad reputation. But thanks to something that happened today, and the conversations about it, I know that it’s not the song, it’s not the style or the music, but rather it’s all about the feeling and intent behind the song that matters the most.
