I know =( But I think it might be a bit much to expect novices to have the understanding we do, let alone Fi novices. It's a system which very much suits a function set they don't use... I wish I could get them to appreciate it because to me it provides proof that other people think differently to me, and gives me a framework for understanding how those people might be thinking: what they're prioritising or using as a 'language' of interpretation, etc...

Pretty much... They don't think it is explainable, let alone that it should be.

It's definitely an Fi-related thing. They don't like that it doesn't get into people's deep emotional identities and they feel like it glosses over what's important and misses the point. The reason Fi people compare MBTI with astrology is because they feel it's arbitrary. They don't understand that, whilst those are valid criticisms, they are misplaced because MBTI is designed for broad, group-orientated understanding and to help people who do dispassionate thinking and who do emotions on a group level. Fi people don't think on a group level in the same way, so they don't understand this very easily.

The sad thing is that I can understand this as clear as day but getting them to truly understand it or value it is very difficult. I've had some success with ISTJ but dominant and auxiliary Fi is much harder to communicate that to.

Living with predominantly Fi people who have dominant, auxiliary, and even tertiary Fi, must be really hard. I find these types (minus ISTJ) hard to deal with in my classroom, but at home… ugh

It really, really is. They don’t understand my inferior Fe and because they’re in the vast majority they think that’s how people work. I love them, but man it can be hard sometimes.

What’s worse is that because they’re Fi they hate that I use MBTI to understand what’s going on, so I can’t even explain it to them with that…

Strangely enough ... almost all the these have been my favorite characters from each of these shows. I had the biggest crush on Kakashi, too. But Carraway was a surprise, which is why I included him.

Oh! I just realised you probably meant the enneagram thing.

Um. The file is labelled as Palmer Type 5, but I have no idea where the main download link is. I got it through a friend... Seems to probably be by someone in the enneagram research community called Helen Palmer. It's around 40 minutes long, I think.

The ones I've heard directly inspired by Mike Duncan (who did the History of Rome and Revolutions) are: - The History of Byzantium by Robin Pierson - The Russian Rulers History Podcast (its name changed to Russian History Retold because they got to Putin and it's on random Russian History topics now) by Mark Schauss. The one I'm listening to at the moment is Russian Rulers. Mark's a great podcaster. I've got quite a few episodes to go yet because I finally decided to listen all the way from the beginning. The Russian names and words make it harder to learn, but I'm still learning things.
