No one is complaining.TM buys Shaw art supplies, usually on her birthday or if She's sent Shaw on a particularly difficult mission. Sometimes. Root thinks this is basically the cutest shit ever but she never says so.Shaw buys Root guns on random occasions. she goes out and gets a christmas tree the first christmas they spend together because she's pretty sure that's the sort of thing Root never had as a kid and might have wanted.Root and TM exchange puzzles and riddles and interesting facts. TM will direct root to cafes with good coffee or maker spaces in unfamiliar cities or find her fun cars/guns/people on missions. Sometimes TM and root watch plays or dance performances together, and Shaw starts getting Root a ticket to the ones she thinks they should see.Root and TM buy Shaw food regularly.It actually kind of bothers shaw that she doesn't know what she can give tM as a gift, but you'll never hear her say so.

44. - Are the comfortable with each other? Anything they have to have their privacy for?Ooo, this is a tough one. I think Root is uncomfortable with stuff related to the everyday realities of her hearing loss a lot of the time. Also root has issues with people watching her eat or get dressed or fall asleep, though only sometimes. shaw doesn't want to talk about her tiem with samaritan, and she doesn't want to talk about her dad. Shaw isn't near as comfortable as Root is with TM watching everything she does, but at the same time Root isn't as comfortable as Shaw is with other people being in her space (apartment, computer, car, whatever). TM would rather root not have access to Her code-- that is a thing for admin and also She and Root are both working really hard to be on the same level as each other which generally means no poking around in the other's base code. This is occasionally difficult for both of them.

/smiles winningly You're welcome!! Just think! John buying expensive suits but never wearing them! The Machine keeping herself mostly confined to local sub-par servers so her counterpart and/or Harold never stumbles across Her presence by accident. Root getting dangerously invested in metaphysics and the whole idea of everything being a simulation and nothing is really real, whatever real means. What fun!

thehornyphilosopher Possibilities: 1) she figures it's worth a shot since she doesn't have that much time and her Plan A has failed 2) she had this great idea for iron torture and wanted to test it out 3) she just really wants to justify spending a bit more time with Shaw even though her cover's blown and torture seems like as good an activity as any Options 2 and 3 should not be as cute as I find them my god. She just wanted to spend time with her crush! She thought the iron was very inspired, hopefully Shaw was impressed. Just imagine root trying to show off and impress Shaw. "Did you notice how I carried your tazed and sedated body all the way from your apartment to this car without being noticed? I mean, it was nbd, all in a day's work."
