"Jenna, now you have joined the world once again"
red right hand || Jenna and Alaric
Mystic Falls was one massive headache after another.
Alaric sat in his truck for half an hour. Logan Fell was dead and gone and couldn’t cause any more problems. And he was smarmy as fuck, on top of being a vampire, so despite an overall uneasiness, Alaric couldn’t really feel that sorry about it. Still, he sat in his truck. For half an hour. Wondering what the hell he should say to Jenna.
Even picturing her face made his stomach do flip-flops. Holy crap. Ridiculous. He hadn’t been so powerfully and instantly attracted to a woman in –
(don’t say it, don’t think it)
… in a long time, not since
(don’t even think her name, Ric, you goddamn idiot.)
… not since Isobel.
Okay, there it was. Still. Jenna wasn’t Isobel, not by any stretch of the imagination.
What Alaric was already feeling sick about was that clearly despite being raised in the right families, she had absolutely no idea about Mystic Falls. What did parents here do? Decide which among their children should be prepared, and which left in the dark?
Could he tell her?
Alaric glanced at the well-lit porch. House full of helpless humans. But they were as happy as they could be. He had no right to mess it up. He triple checked his clothes were clean. Good enough, no blood.
He really, really wanted to talk to Jenna, see her smile. He scrubbed a hand over his own face, and growled at himself. Perhaps they could have a glass of wine. Talk, something.
He opened the door of the truck, and crossed the road. Determined. He hit the doorbell, and waited.
It was a long day -- far longer than it should have been. Meredith knew what was causing her to go through the motions. She was too caught up in her own head, too focused on things she could not change.
Because of that she ended up here.
Meredith leaned down to trace her fingers over the raised letters of his name. It had been -- what? Almost three months now? Just enough time for things to appear back to normal on the outside while on the inside, she just ached.
She took a deep breath and then rose. No good to spend too much time here. It never seemed to help anyway. She turned, intending to leave but stopped in her tracks. There was another figure standing there.
"Jenna."
