Long Ramble No One Will Read

For anyone wondering, the reason I make it VERY clear to not add shipping tags to any pictures I do of Sidon and Link is that the person who ripped the models was personally uncomfortable with it. It was one of their rules that no one makes shipping art with Link in particular due to their age gap. It’s not due to any preference of mine, but a rule I followed because I was told to and respected their reasons behind it. 

Following the first time I had to explain this, and because the Zelda fandom is comprised of a lot of children, I was met with a lot of immature backlash for saying I wasn't going to do any art with Link and Sidon, even if I personally liked them together. And for quite some time the negative reaction people had stuck with me and embittered me towards the pairing. Recently I’ve let go of that because they were stupid children and I'm relearning just why I liked them together so much.

However, the fact remains that the model I am using still has the rule of no Sidon and Link in a romantic picture together. Even if the person who released Sidon has long since deactivated their account I still cared enough to follow that rule out of respect. Though now I'm starting to honestly not give a shit.

I’ve done so much work on the model of Sidon, even alongside them to correct their mistakes and improve on him that I think it’s within my right to have some say on how I will use him. I would never give him out as he is now, and even when he’s finished with all my fixes and edits to make him different I plan to let one other person have him.

But before I do that, I plan to do more to Sidon that I can say will honestly make him more my model than anyone else’s. I'm going to redo his facials, add more of them, give him more physics and even some new bones. With an XNA release of a Sidon rip model I could simply convert that and do it all from that as a fresh base but that would mean I would have to redo all thework I already did for the Sidon model I'm currently using and I can't be bothered. It'll work just the same anyhow. 

So yeah. I really want to make art for Sidon and Link, I like them together a lot but since the model still does have a fair amount of effort put into it by the original ripper, I think I'm going to put a lot more into him before I do shipping. Until I can confidently say that it is more my effort and time than anyone else's.

Is it the fact I wanna do Gerudo!Link and Sidon stuff that brought on this change in my personal policy? I will admit nothing.

random question but what do you think the purpose of rbb and sbb was?

first and foremost the bears were used as harry and louis’ mouthpiece (for lack of a better word) to communicate with us. in addition to that, they taught this fandom, at least the parts that were interested in listening to them, a lot about lgbt history and icons.

contrary to antis’ belief, the bears weren’t a means to fuck with our side of them fandom. i will never be convinced of that. too much effort time and dedication were put into the bears and you don’t do that unless you want to get a clear message across. imo it’s not a coincidence that they popped back up again during otra when they did. the references to babygate alone are proof of that.

I miss them every day.
