Fully agree. With the state of this country (I am sadly American) and the awful shit occurring daily, it feels very strange to see art celebrating this ‘holiday’ with this sort of AU. Genuinely, there is nothing to celebrate about a genocidial cesspool built off the blood and corpses of innocent POC and women and far far more than what I’m saying. It came off as very weird to me.
