I MISS YOU A LOT and i finally replied to peter haha the pain is getting betterish, now it's just soreness
SAME OMG, I'm so glad you're starting to feel better, and I hope the rest of the soreness goes away soon! OH MY GOD PETER!
Tony walked up behind Steve, a few yards away. It had been ten years. Every year, he met the other here, though not physically. Often, the Stark stayed far off, wearing an amplifier so he could hear what Steve said, and then left again without a trace. No one had been able to trace him because, well, if anyone was able to medically accomplish faking their own death, it would be him. He took a deep breath as he walked forward, hearing the pain in Steve’s voice. It hadn’t changed.
"Touching words, Steve." he said, feeling a tear rolling down his own cheek. "I figured everyone, including you, would’ve just tried to forget about me at this point." he said, watching Steve. He stayed still. He didn’t try to offer a smile or a frown. He was wearing jeans, sneakers, a tank top, and a hoodie, hood pulled up, though the jacket was only zipped up halfway, the glow of the arc reactor shown brightly.
If he knew Steve well at all, he knew this wouldn’t exactly be a happy reunion.
Steve gave the gravestone a friendly tap, smiling down at the marker before he straightened himself up. It was weird, 10 years later and he was still talking to Tony, or trying to. Steve had already said goodbye, but he couldn't help if Tony could see him wherever he was. Maybe he appreciated the gesture. The fact that Steve took the time to talk to him. No matter how silly it may seem to other people, it meant something to Steve. He figured at the end of the day that's all that really mattered.
Steve was getting ready to leave when a voice made him freeze. A voice that sounded like a page from the past. Maybe this was a bad idea. Maybe Steve needed to stop hanging on to memories and what if's. He was pretty sure he was hearing things. At least imagining Tony Stark's voice. After all these years...why? Steve could feel his heart beating fast because this couldn't be happening.
Steve slowly turned around and he was pretty sure all the color faded from his face. Tony looked almost exactly like he did when he last say him, from his face down to his arc reactor. He couldn't be real. If he was, then he had a lot of explaining to do. 10 years. So Steve did the only logical thing that he could think of and that was to punch Tony, because if he wasn't real then Steve wouldn't feel it.

"I miss you" //haha all the angst
Send me “I miss you” to know what my muse will say after 1 year, 5 years, then to 10 years after your muse’s death.
1 Year
When Tony called himself the invincible Iron Man, Steve somewhat believed him. Despite the recklessness and self destructive behavior, Tony always managed to get out okay. There was always a solution. Until the solution never happened and one day Tony Stark didn’t come back. Steve spent a lot of time in denial, spent most of his times trying to find some way that Tony could come back. Steve had even moved into Clint’s apartment due to the fact that everybody was afraid of Steve’s mental stability. A year later, Steve was back on his feet and becoming himself again. It had been a year since Tony’s death. The world missed Tony Stark and Iron Man, but nobody missed him like Steve did. Steve bent down in front of the tombstone, his fingers tracing lazily over Tony’s name. “I always told you to be careful. But you were too stubborn to listen to me huh? So where you drinking at these days? I’d like to believe that you’re in Heaven but I can’t help but laugh the thought of you partying it up in hell. You’d probably run the joint.” he managed to smile to himself. “Nah, I always believed in you. Saw you for the good guy you were even when you couldn’t. ” He took a deep breath and shook his head. “I love you, you know that right? I always will. You were a great man Tony. Never sell yourself short okay? If you’re listening, know that you were always amazing and that I love you. Don’t drink too much, remember to eat and for the love of god sleep sometime.”
5 years
Steve never expected after all this time he’d be living his life without Tony Stark. He should have known. Should have seen it coming. Steve couldn’t pinpoint a person in his life that he hadn’t outlived. It was depressing really, but he didn’t think the love of his life would be snatched up from his fingers like this. The constant grave visits weren’t healthy, but at times they felt like it was the only way Steve could talk to Tony. It was one of the last things he had left of Tony. It was better than nothing. Steve was sitting in front of the gravestone, doing a small sketch of the view in front of him as he spoke. “So I have great news.” he paused, looking up to smile at the headstone. “Thor and Jane are expecting a baby.” he said grinning. It really was great news and the couple couldn’t be happier. “Even Clint and Natasha are thinking about slowing things down work wise and getting married.” Steve swallowed the bitter taste that was in his mouth. “Bruce met a scientist, just as smart as he is. They’re taking things slow.” Then there was Steve, happy for everybody, but alone himself. “Remember when we talked about marriage and kids? What happened to that? We should be married with two kids now, yet.” he paused and looked down, sniffing and blinking the tears away. “I miss you so much,” He choked out.
10 Years
It had been 10 years and Steve felt like nothing had changed. He still felt empty at times, still needed his best friend, but he wasn’t there. He wasn’t coming back and Steve was going to have to accept that fact. It was getting better though. Steve was drowning himself at work, though the workload had drastically increase. “Now would be a good time for you to be here, to tell Fury off. He’s been on our cases a lot more lately. Thor and Jane’s kids are growing up so fast. I make sure to tell them stories about how amazing their Uncle Tony is. You should see Abby. She’s the splitting image of Thor but has her mothers brains. You would love her. I wish you were around to do sciency-stuff with her. You would’ve been a great uncle and a great dad. We’re about to go celebrate her first dance recital. Don’t get into too much trouble up there okay?”
