Cupid ain’t so bad - Jared & Ivy
Jared was blessed with natural good looks and he knew it and was pleased about it. He had to put some effort in to look the level of presentable he wanted to achieve, but really, he knew he had a handsome face. He'd had enough girls, boys, men, and women telling him about his cheek bones and jaw line to understand his appeal from a young age. Being a self-adsorbed egoist helped too of course.
He didn't spend an inordinate amount of time getting ready for the dance, but he was careful in his approach. He'd gotten his tux weeks ago when the event was announced and shoes and a watch were simple accessories to choose from his wardrobe. Showered, shaved and hair styled, he was ready to leave before Brylee and called out a parting greeting before heading out of the apartment. The evening was cool, but since th ewalk was so short, he didn't think an overcoat was necessary. The quick walk convinced him this guess had been correct.
Upon entering through the doors, Jared walked confidently to the front desk as he'd been instructed. He was neither looking forward to nor dreading being attached to someone for the whole evening - if they weren't to his liking, he'd just force them along with whatever he wanted to do. When he reached the front of the line though and signed in at his name, his eyebrows rose and he let out a low chuckle when he was partner was revealed: Ivy Koning. Now *that* was convenient. He stepped aside to wait in the designated area, a lazy smirk playing on his face as he surveyed the line to see if he could pick her out from the backs of heads he could see.
