       she’d been up for three days. she was new here, still trying to find her place. it wasn’t as if she could just skip off to some planet and live her life. the resistance had saved her from a fate worse than death. she owed them. and she believed in them. but she was still finding her way around. of course, all that worrying went out the window when she saw it. the astrodroid.

     things hadn’t exactly been PERFECT, lately, but they were rebuilding, slowly, working on piecing everything back together, guided only by their HOPE. rebellions weren’t built on munitions, or supplies, or fancy ships --- she knew that, by now, but it still might’ve been nice to have something; a single freighter carrying ANYTHING might have been enough to lift their spirits. yet nothing came, from their allies or their enemies, and rey found herself used to the sudden quiet peace that had surrounded them, lately, even if it was unsettling. it was odd, being thrown so SUDDENLY back into the strategizing portion of battle, but at least it wasn’t an adjustment she had to make alone. “i’m glad you’re here with us. it feels... important. you know?”

          Despite the incredibly ill-tempered expression on his face, the words came out defeated and exasperated. He was tired, but he was always tired these days and it was starting to feel more like an excuse than an actual reason. Luke forced himself to rise from the couch with a sigh. His head felt full of cotton, and shaking it did little to help. Rubbing at his eyes, he vaguely wondered how he’d allowed his entire life to fall apart so stupendously. Right. Anyway-- 

                       “Alright. I’m up. Where’s the fire, Ben?”
