#Part17 “As I get to Toronto, I stayed in a hotel for a little bit to figure out where I was going to live. As I get to my hotel room, I’m chilling watching TV, and I get a notification from Twitter. I look at my mentions from my new activity, and I see Drake followed me. I was going nuts man. I was really out here! I calmed down from a minute, and I follow him back. 15 minutes later, he DMs me saying he wants me to come to his studio down town. I meet him the next day with his producer to talk about music. I created a good bond with him, he mentored me on how to make music, making key decisions, creating a brand, making an album, and how he gets his inspiration. Every time he was in town he would invite me to the studio to watch him make music, and let me take everything in. I knew I was on to bigger better things after those few months. People were doubting me when I started in music, now they see that I’m on and they act like we are friends. I was talking to my dad last night, and he was telling me how he is proud of me. #Part16 "He buys me a plane ticket, I get to LA, and I start grinding it out. Every day I was just working on my music. I got better day by day again putting tracks out on blogs, and forums. My sh*t was hot, and began getting attention in the area. I sold a couple of beats to some local artist in and I could afford a ticket back to Montreal. I was hoping by the time I got back home, things would have cooled off. Soon as I get there my mom is like “get out of my house, I don’t want bums in here!” I couldn't believe school could get someone worked up for so long. I decided to fly back to LA to get away from all the drama that was going on. Soon as I land off the plane, texts from my American number start pouring in, and one of them was from ASAP Rocky! I don’t know how he got my number but he basically tells me to reach his studio. I have no phone, no money, and I’m basically stranded out in the streets because I can’t go back home to Montreal. I got back to campus to spend a night on someone’s room to figure the next move I was going to make. The next morning, my friend named Tobi comes and sits with me during breakfast in the caf. Our relationship grew over the school year, we became homies like we’ve know each other for years. We sat there and spoke about my music, how he was really digging it, and my overall progression. He really believed I could make it. It felt good to hear that after all the drama that was going down at home. He tells me he knows a guy in UCLA from when he used to live there, and I could stay at his place because his place was big. I couldn’t believe the sequence of events happening. #Part13 “When I was in New York, things didn't pop off as I wanted to. I stayed there for about two and a half months. I was going hard every day trying to get my music off the ground. I was staying at Alex's house sleeping on the couch. I had already bummed from him, and I couldn't stay there any longer. I had to switch up the scene. I took the work I made in New York back to Canada. I made one or two connections, but nothing that serious. I hadn't spoken to my parents in a long minute after the whole bomb I dropped on them of me leaving school. I was using that money they gave me for school to buy plane tickets, and food. I was lying telling them I was in school. I would be on the phone saying “I'm in school…I did great on the exam” they come to visit me, I wasn't there.
