I run a podcast. It's a passion project I worked towards for a long time, and I love it dearly. Running it takes a huge amount of time and energy, and the yearly upkeep costs aren't something to sniff at, either.
Burnout is a scary word, but it shouldn't be. Burnout is a love letter from yourself, from your art, reminding you to love yourself again, and to take the steps necessary to fall back in love with what you create. Sometimes those steps might feel like failure, but I promise you they're not.
When I originally launched the show, I was determined to stick to a biweekly schedule. My stubbornness over that almost destroyed my love of the show, its story, and the five-year-Iong D&D game that lies at its heart. Thankfully, I have a wife who loves me very much, and I took some time to catch up with myself and what I want from life.
And so:
Following the release of episode 47(!!) on January 5th, The Junket Podcast will be moving to a permanent tri-weekly schedule. We may take breaks; we may go on pause. I will give myself more grace. And, by all the Maelstrom Galaxy's many weird alien gods, we will make it to our finale.
