It's safe to say that all moms, like me, only always want to give the best to our families. And we have to admit, one of our biggest challenges is to think of what to feed our brood every single day. Enter Mushroom Sisig from The Kabute Farm! Prepared by their local chef, with oyster mushrooms straight from the farm, having this dish is also a wonderful way to support local, and eat healthy, too! We tried it two ways, first of course was to serve it with rice and egg. Sorry no photos, it didn't even make it to the dinner table with all the tasting going on in the kitchen. Borrowing words from my 7 year old, "it was so good!" Tastes like real pork sisig, without the guilt! Today, I wanted to come up with another way on how to serve it. Since pasta dishes are always a favorite, I got some olive oil, garlic, onions, cherry tomatoes, olives, lemon rind, lemon juice, fresh basil and shaved parmesan cheese. Put them altogether with The Kabute Farm's Mushroom Sisig, added linguine and voila! Another hit with the fam! I didn't tell them what ingredients I used til they asked. My 15 year old was surprised to find out he was eating oyster mushrooms and not pork. And I was given a rating of 1000 out of 100 by the little one haha. Two thumbs up for mommy!
