The Last Humans Trilogy by Dima Zales
The Last Humans trilogy is a set of books sent to me for free in Kindle format.
It’s a Sci-Fi series about a boy named Theodore and a ship named Phoe. (pronounced Fee) It follows both them and a few of Theo’s close friends in a world where they live on a piece of land surrounded by something called the Goo in a seemingly half virtual world. Well Phoe throws Theo into a bunch of crazy situations trying to get her memory back. Along the way they make and lose friends and fall in love. The WHOLE book I imagined Phoe as tinkerbell though. I don’t think that’s what the author had in mind but that’s all I could think.
We find out a lot about the world and I’m trying my best not to give away what happens in the books but it’s kind of difficult. They’re good books. The first one starts slow and it took me a while to get into it. But once you get comfortable with the world’s vocabulary it really draws you in. There were times where I had tensed up. However, the world doesn’t quite experience emotion so there isn’t a lot of emotion to feel. Battle scenes are well written and the author s very descriptive.
There are allusions to sex and descriptions of touching and kissing but I’d say its about PG-13 kind of stuff. There are no outright descriptions of this. There is one death scene I found particularly hard to read. If you’re giving the books to your children you should read all the books first. My favorite book is the last one in the trilogy called Haven and while I want to tell you WHY I cant because it’ll spoil everything. So go check out these books. You can buy all three. Links below.
