"Boss--" he sort of huffs out a breath in disbelief, didn't he always make sure he was readily available to Joker at all hours of the day? Making sure his ringtone for his calls would be impossible to ignore and at full blast so he won't sleep through it. If he calls at 3AM he'll have his shoes on and be out the door by 3:10 no matter how sleep deprived he is, he'd drop just about anything for him.

All because Jonny was determined to be his dependable, go to guy.

"I'm at your beck and call." he put a hand to his chest, voice exuding sincerity while a smile tugged at the upper corner of his mouth, flashing molars. "What made you doubt that?"

Edward tilts his head. "I didn't say I didn't want that... I just said it's Harley's wish for you to stay away... But we can talk in private, somewhere else."

It disarms him; the laughter.

He had, on impulse decided that the man was too much of a nuciance to be allowed to meddle in his business any longer. But the laughter...

Maybe he wasn't all that bad.

With an amused raise of an eyebrow, Joker straightens up, releasing him with a shove. "No. Not today, Riddler. But consider this a warning. Stay out of my way."

Eddie almost falls down, giggles still escaping him. “Thank you.” He says, mostly by reflex. Still processing what happened, he lifts his hand to his throat.

“I thought we had similar goals... We could work together... I wouldn’t be on your way...” It was probably a bad idea to discuss that now. But as much as Edward was smart, talking to people was never his forte.

It should be scary. He knows the danger he is in. But---

He just laughs. Not even just a nervous giggle, but a full on laugh. "Are you going to finish me? Is that it?" He doesn't even try to move, staring at the Joker with great interest.
