"Derek. Why is there... hair... all over the couch?" Ivy furrowed her eyebrows as she peeped around the apartment looking for her boyfriend. She stopped in the bathroom when she saw Derek, wet and sudsy, struggling to hold something squirmy in place in the sink. The bathroom was covered with soap, water, and short little hairs. "Oh. Hi Ivy! It's just cat hair-- Hey! Stop knocking the soap down!" Derek wrestled with the thing in the sink as he tried to unsuccessfully grasp the soap bottle with his slippery hands. Ivy reached for the soap bottle and offered Derek a towel to dry his hands. "Thanks," he said as he wiped his hands. "Is that... a cat?" Ivy asked as Derek rinsed some bubbles off the small orange and white animal. Derek smiled at her, :Well, actually it's a kitten. I was thinking of naming it Benedict or Fiyero." Ivy blinked at him, "Why do you have a cat?" She said blankly, now very confused. The kitty made a sound like a "merp" or a "meep". Derek held it away from himself for a moment, preparing for it to splash. "I found it in the ally behind the studio. He's been there for days and it sort of has a little home made beside the dumpster. He doesn't have a collar or anything, Ivy," He smiled at her hopefully. "He doesn't have a home without us!" Ivy was making a face, trying not to laugh at Derek. "Please?" He stuck out his bottom lip and held up the now-clean kitty. Ivy let out a giggle and nodded, patting the damp kitten on the head. Derek held his dripping arms out to hug Ivy. She backed away, giggling harder now. "Maybe dry your hands first." "Yeah, yeah." He harrumphed and dried his hands. "Better?" He pulled her into a hug and kissed her. She hummed with pleasure. "Yup."
