Are you ok if we ship our MC apprentice with Lyra?

Mun: Hmm. For me, I’d rather get to know you, the creator, and your own apprentice before I ship Lyra with them. There’s nothing wrong with shipping them romantically or platonically. It’s just a lot of fun to collaborate together and then to see how our characters interact.

So far, I have had two ‘doomed’ apprentice x apprentice ships, with @3rrol ‘s Errol and @larknnightingale ‘s Viz. Those are full of angst and stuff, for various reasons.

Successful romances so far have been with @sunrisenfool’s Anatole on his Consulship AU, and with @ashleysmystery‘s Toni.

And my among the ships I like the most, the friendships! @lefuulei-art‘s Arya,  @thelazaretmakesmesad‘s River, @agent-darkbootie‘s Val in the modern AU with their two kids [Lyra is their aunt!], and so on!

He stares at him for a very long time, none of them saying anything.

“I can ask for anything I want, right?”

“Yes,” he says, promising land, power and riches, and promises of more suggestive nature.

“So, absolutely anything... Excellent! So... wait here.” When he comes back, he’s holding a series of papers, plans, dissertations and statistics. “So, communism and the ultimate liberation of society... actually, given some principles are respected I’m not too picky on the model... but that’s for further discussion, it would depend on how the city would like to organise itself too... don’t stand there, do sit down and make yourself comfortable, I have a lot of plans on the subject, I have academic degrees on the subject.”

“But, but...”

Making the Devil stammer will always be amusing to him. “What?”

“I thought you’d ask for the realms...”

“No? I live in one of them, I like them not merged.”

“Riches?”

“What for?”

“Something sexy?”

“Stop interrupting me, you said anything I wanted, I want this,” Anatole says, but then when he properly registered his words he tilts his head, actually considering it. “Tell you what, make society better, the sexy happens.”

“Hey, I am paying attention I was simply asking— OKAY, DEAL.”

He grins. He always knew learning to play the violin would be useful.

thelazaretmakesmesad] Vishal smiles and kisses Anatole’s cheek before holding him a little closer, “Good morning Nana, happy birthday my love. How does red velvet pancakes sound for breakfast? Then we can do whatever you want.” Oh Vishal has many presents lined up for Anatole’s birthday, one being an atrociously colored sweater (and then the same sweater but in black just in case), but for now he just wanted to hold his love close and shower him in kisses

“You shouldn’t let me sleep this late,” he bleats half heartedly, but huddles closer to Vis. “I’m too asleep to think, but yes,” he still hasn’t even opened his eyes. He doesn’t want to pry himself away from him, but he does want pancakes, so he supposes the sacrifice is worth it. He sits up, stretching with a whine.

“Pancakes and coffee? A lot of coffee and an aspirin for your Anatole who keeps thinking he can will away his low alcohol tolerance?” He doesn’t feel to bad, but the back of his head does hurt.

He’s going to say something else, something cheeky about whatever he wants, but then he lays eyes on the sweater and he just laughs. “You know you can ask people what colours are things, right? That’s so horrible, it’s literally hideous, and it’s fantastic, I’m framing it. I’m putting it in my office.”

He turns to Vishal, laughter still lingering on his lips as he leans forward to kiss him, a hand settling on his thigh and the other on his ribs. “We’re the same age again now, most dearest.”

He kisses him again, and then the corner of his mouth too. “Please, for the love of everything you deem sacred, brew me some coffee.” He watches him leave after he agrees on it, biting his lower lip and smiling at the pleasant sway his hips have always had. He eyes curiously the pile of presents, going over them.

One of them makes him smile wickedly.

“Darling?” He yells from the bedroom. “What was that about doing anything I wanted afterwards?”

7. What pranks will they play on their LI?

Ngl, I’m absolutely torn of Anatole’s grim and dark sense of humour shining through, so he takes a jar, feels it with green water and makes a magic illusion of his head inside of it to scare the living hell out of Vis or Julian (he would never do this to Muriel), mostly bc he’d know he could just pop into the room like ‘hey what are you screaming about’ and having a conversation about how his head is in a jar with either of them for like 5 minutes before they realise Anatole’s actual head is on his shoulders. I guess he could also play the prank of “I’m wearing a sheer robe and lingerie and the house is Halloween decorated, and I’m literally the prettiest man in Vesuvia wwyd.”

Leonore lives to scare Lucio on Halloween because he always pretends he wasn’t scared and it’s hilarious to watch. Also he likes playing “that’s not Aruna, RUN” with Lucio and pretend a wild bear is going after him.  He makes sure she’s never in real danger tho.

Medea is a big fun of gory pranks like Anatole is, and she’ll maybe make it look like there was a murder in the palace to prank Nadia, hide a fake corpse, or maybe pull the ultimate joke and pull a Victor Frankenstein and create a creature. His name will be Adam Prometheus Orestes Satrinava-Pryce, he will be loved.

Sabine is going to make an entire batch of halloween fake candy for Portia. Cookies with raisins that look like chocolate chips, brussels sprouts dipped in chocolote so they look like bonbons, or fake candied apples: instead of apples, onions. They’re also not above placing many jump scare things around to prank Portia. They’ll also forget where they put it and get scared too, probably. Above all, they like to prank Julian.

8. Do they dress up their familiar? What costume?

Anatole usually just asks Antu what does he want to wear. So it depends on what he wants. He says he wants to dress up as pirate this year. He wanted a sword, but Anatole said it was out of the question.

Leonore dresses up Aruna, his bear familiar, to match whatever he’s wearing, but he has — brilliantly — dressed her up as Zach and Lucio on separate occasions.

Medea does not dress Lemongrass the Lemur because she doesn’t allow it, and there’s no point in spending the night calming down a screaming lemur. Besides, if she doesn’t like it, there’s no point in it. She does allow collars tho, just not clothes.

Sabine dresses Sambar the bearded dragon as, unsurprisingly, a dragon. they put wings on him.

anatole: he doesn’t like being touched by strangers. he’s really fussy about it (as he is with most things). strangers can only touch his hands for greetings and his shoulders. his friends can touch his hands, his hair, his knees (ONLY the knee) and perhaps his forearms. upper and inner arms, ribs and everything else is lover only touching.

leonore: he collects antique maps. while he can paint, he doesn’t make his own because he can’t be arsed to learn proper cartography.

medea: she’s only ever dyed her hair green. she likes her natural hair and often keeps it that way, but she’s partial to green.

sabine: when sabine was a kid, they used to unmake their entire bed at night and make their room into a blanket fort and sleep that way. they did it so much their parents stopped bothering with trying to stop them.
