#27: The Lazarus Effect It’s like the stars of NBC make a horror movie. Same old tale: overzealous scientists “playing god” create a “serum” to bring people back from the dead. Firstly, science gone wrong stories kinda annoy me because they paint scientists as foolish, and naive for making obvious bad decisions. I can usually forgive that, but the premise of this one didn’t seem at all realistic. No one had the devil-may-care attitude seen in The Reanimator or Young Frankenstein. Everyone was ignoring the obvious issue associated with bringing people back from the dead. Anyway they start on dogs. As you would expect, someone important dies so they of course have to bring them back to life. Long story short, it went the way of Pet Sematary only with psychic powers and a weak backstory. It tries to surprise us with a twist ending but, it wasn’t that shocking. Overall, it was very visually appealing, small sets with attention to detail and color. The special effects were acceptable. The Monkey’s Paw is also better. #gay #thelazaruseffect #movies #moviecritic #moviereview #horror #scary #halloween #lgbt #gaybronx #gaynyc #netflix #scarymovies #film https://www.instagram.com/p/Bphn6GwgKcG/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=1ellhuxxpa831
