my moirail is the best ever okay
I already had this partially done n drafted, but he's having a really bad night tonight so I decided to go ahead and get it done.
So yes, as some of you have very likely noticed, I've been having a really lousy month lately, and there's some social stuff going on that's exactly the opposite of what I want to be happening.
but then there's Bram, and he's managed to turn around almost all of my worst nights with this. I've been getting incredibly lonely and desperate at times and Bram's been there to rejuvenate my normally chipper outlook at every turn
The night that I started this draft, I'd been going through a particularly difficult time, on the verge of tears pretty much constantly and almost ready to give up entirely on anything improving. You see, this situation has been shaking not only my social and emotional life, but my fundamental outlook on living. I dunno, I've been questioning myself a lot philosophically, wondering if I'm actually heading in the direction I need myself to head.
But then Bram was willing to give me a Skype call, and the whole thing just... changed. Like, I went from questioning really basic ideas about myself and wallowing in constant self-pity to actually being happy. Not just feeling better. Happy, for the first time since the whole thing started.
It's not to downplay the roles of everyone else in my social net (I have a lot of wonderful people in my life, and you're all important~). But to pull someone out of a real crisis and onto solid ground is remarkable -- and it's far from the first time he's done it.
That's why I continue to use the word "moirail" to describe our relationship. Those familiar with the term understand that it's all about protection and calming, and I feel completely safe and calm with him. It's a sort of immediate release from whatever's bothering me.
Which leads very directly into the point of this post. I mean, obviously, the point of this whole thing is to gush about Bram and make it clear how much I appreciate him, but there's something in particular that I have to say, and I want to do it in public (sort of. not really public. whatever.)
I've reflected on it, on what what my life would be like if he wasn't able to calm me down the way he does, and every way I work around it I always come to the same conclusion: I would be regularly smoking cigarettes if it weren't for him.
Now, I know a ton of people on here are really weird about people who smoke cigarettes, and I frankly don't care about that. Far more relevant is the fact that regular smokers in my family die at age 47 exactly. But eventually, I would not have cared.
so, the conclusion: Thank you, Bram, for doing a very good thing for my life expectancy. You're the best~

Play Red with White for Lightning Helix. :) I also like Monowhite tax (Leonin Arbiter w/ Ghost Quarter/Path, etc.)
Definitely. I'm playing that thing every chance I get. :D

You could also go for something along the lines of Maverick, such a sweet deck. Loam is awesome though for sure.
Yeah, I was looking at that. I might still head in that direction, to be honest.
