A Confession.
I feel that I need to say this on here in case someone has the same issue. Basically, I have people in my head. They tend to be people who have had a profound effect on me in film, music, whatever. I haven’t met them, they don’t know I exist. Once in my head, I manipulate them like characters, make them talk to each other etc. usually in familiar surroundings, if I went to Italy, then some of “the scenes” would be set there. This usually happens whenever I’m not talking to someone else, so when I’m walking somewhere, at home alone, listening to music. When I’m reading a book, I assign people from my head to characters in the book like a film. Same with music- imagined scenarios with the people, usually with imagined settings, again like scenes from a film. Interestingly, I never, ever dream of these people, not ever. Also, I am never involved in anything that happens with them. I’m like a camera, totally uninvolved. I just watch. The worst thing about all this is that it’s staring to affect my work. I can’t concentrate for very long, studying for exams was a nightmare! 5 minutes max and then up and I’m walking round with the people in my head. It’s like seeing inside and outside at the same time, so strange. I’m fine in school, there I have my friends and teachers to talk to. If a lesson’s boring, then I zone out and I’m back in my head. As stupid and insensitive as this is, I feel like an addict.
When I was younger, I thought I’d simply grow out of it, but back then it was less severe. The most obvious solution would be go to a therapist, but I’m too embarrassed and my parents would know. Here, I can be anonymous. The people are driving me insane, I’ve had it for years, but now I’ve reached my limit. It’s taken over my life. I don’t want people staring at me in the street like I’m from mars when I zone out. Is there anyone else who has this? If not, does anyone has any advice? I’m just so sick of this taking over my life. I know it sounds psycho and crazy, I don’t even remember when it started. It’s awful now and I want it to stop, I just don’t know how. Any advice would be much appreciated.
Sorry about my lack of posts recently. I've been busy with assignments and essays, but on the weekend I'll upload some more photos. X
Hey! Where did the wedding shower picture come from? It wasn't on their twitters...
It Came From Friends Instagrams! :)
Dr. Watson, please ignore my previous question. I only just saw your answer to my question and thank you for your reply, as well as your advice. I apologize for wasting your time. -Four
You're quite welcome and no you didn't waste my time. Feel free to ask more questions or simply just to message me if you want to.
