Happy Sunday bookworms! The next book on my TBR is another Frances Hardinge! The Lie Tree was my first of her books and I’m rather excited to start the next one! . What is the last author you discovered that you’re keen to read all their books? . | @strengthofcharacter THEBOOKKATISAWESOME for 10% | . #thelietree #franceshardinge #strengthofcharacter #dailyquote #inspirationalquotes #bookquote #booksbooksbooks #instaxmini #booknerd #booklover #tbrpile #booklove #sundayfunday #bibliophile #chrisriddell (at West Kirby)
I had to pair a book I hated with something I love so here is The Lie Tree with my firstborn, Pixel. 📖 The Lie Tree was the only book I did not finish last year. It’s premise was so promising: A tree that feeds on lies and produces truth, an island of odd characters, and a Victorian setting for a murder mystery. 📖📖 It was BORING. I give every book 100 pages to hook me and I gave this one 150 pages. At 150 pages, I realized that I did not care for a single character and the plot was going nowhere. I’m fine with a meandering plot if the characters are interesting. NOTHING. 📖📖📖 #allthebooksjan #bookstagram #bookstagramfeature #bookstagrammer #hatedbuteveryoneloved #thelietree #cats #catsofinstagram #catstagram

Yes, that is a young apple tree next to the book The Lie Tree which has an apple on it 👌😁 I can't wait to start this book, it sounds so good.
More packing today! Im so exhausted I'll probably just fall asleep right after Game of Thrones! How was everyone's weekend? I got a good work out this weekend!
"Hardinge’s characteristically rich writing is on full display—alternately excoriating, haunting, and darkly funny—and the novel also features complex, many-sided characters and a clear-eyed examination of the deep sexism of the period, which trapped even the most intelligent women in roles as restrictive as their corsets." — Publisher's Weekly
Frances Hardinge’s The Lie Tree has finally landed stateside!
