My Screencaps: Ensign Baker part 2
@thelittlestredcoat
‘hey, hey, hey. calm down. it’s me.’ ~Baker (could be bby baker, or grown up)
Trepidation pushes into the brunette’s veins at the resounding thunder of boots against wooden floor. With every aching pang of her heart against her rib-cages Anna could hear Simcoe’s veiled threat echoing through time and space to clog her ears. Malice quickly overtakes common sense and she reaches for the only weapon within close proximity. “Don’t ..Don’t come any closer,” Anna sternly orders. Her voice is smooth although it wavers with the faintest hint of controlled panic etched between chords. The curved butt of the french flintlock is nestled within her trembling hand. A shaky breath is exhaled as she tries to come to terms with what she is about to do. The barrel is extended in the direction of the oncoming footsteps and she is just about to pull the trigger but for some inexplicable reason she hesitates.
The sudden emergence of a familiar voice causes her to let out a gasp. “Baker….” His name is spoken with an immediate sense of relief. The flintlock that had been prepared for action is slipped onto the table beside her with a sullen clunk. The powder pours out of the pan with a gentle shush as if, guarding some well kept secret. “Thank God it be you,” she murmurs.
Callous fingers dance across her perspiration soaked forehead clumsily tempting to tuck a few dark strands behind her ears. “Y…. you startled me.” Then with a twinge of remorse she confesses, “I…. I almost shot you…” Her entire body shook violently. For the first time in ages, she doesn’t know exactly what to do next but study him.

Have some Thanksgiving cuddles from Chirp ~chirp chirp
Ty chuckled as the little dragon cuddled up to him. There wasn’t a lot in the world that the red-head was thankful for… but the longer Chirp was in his life, the easier it was to forget what things had been like before. “Yeah, yeah,” he murmured, trying to sound indifferent as he reached a hand up to scratch under the dragon’s chin. “Guess I’m thankful for you, too…”
@thelittlestredcoat
He tried very hard to be quiet and not disturb Ty. Chirp slunk across the room, wings tucked and belly to the floor. He flapped carefully up onto the furniture where the older dragon was resting, then the back. There he stopped and hummed softly before slipping over to Ty. He curled around into a ball, wrapped his tail around his body and sighed. Eyes half closed, he turned his head to look up at his friend and hummed happily. ~Chirp
Typhon had learned long ago that being a light sleeper was more likely to keep him safe from Hunters. Of course, his nose noticed first that the dragonling was in the room, but he didn’t stir. He was curious why the other was attempting to be so stealthy. Keeping his breathing steady as he rested, stretched out on the couch in his penthouse, the older dragon listened and waited. He heard the soft flutter of wings, and felt the couch’s back cushion give as his young guest landed. There was a soft hum...and then Chirp’s weight settled on top of him.
Really? He wanted to...to cuddle? Just his luck that the other dragon would prefer cuddling in this form rather than his human one. When the other hummed happily, Ty couldn’t help a chuckle as he opened his eyes. “You didn’t have to sneak up on me for that, y’know,” he teased. “Am I that scary? That you didn’t want to ask first?” He couldn’t help giving the dragonling a wink, chuckling as he did.

“Oh, I see how it is,” he chuckled. “No compliments for me, I guess. But I could be the sun, y’know. You’ve never seen my real form. My scales shine just like it...all shimmery and gold...” He trailed off with a soft sigh. “And yeah, it’s warm because winter is ending and spring is beginning...” This had always been Finn’s favorite time of year. It probably still was...
The small dragon’s protestations made Ty roll his eyes. “Yeah...heavy and human. The Hunters...they’re not too smart. When we look human it’s way harder from them to pick us out from everyone else. We can hide among their own kind. Hiding is important...and the safest thing you can do...especially when they’re after you.”
For a moment the older dragon considered the question. “There might be places that are still secluded enough to not get seen...or photographed...but not many. Guess I’ve never bother to look too close. As for being small...” Ty shrugged. “I dunno...I just can’t. I can transform parts of me, but when I try to do the whole body I immediately go full scale. My size is what it is...can’t be changed.”
The dragonet chirped happily, he coasted down from a perch, backwinged, and alighted on the larger dragon's head. With his wings folded tight to his back he leaned over so that his snout was close to the other's face. -hello- He chirped again and projected such pleased thoughts. -The sun is here!- ~thelittlestredcoat

Ty went a little cross-eyed as he tried to look at the younger dragon that was now perched on his head. “The sun, huh? Flattery will get you everywhere, kid. Not that you need to.” No...this young dragon was one of the few people Ty could tolerate in anything more than small doses. Personally, he attributed it to the fact that he’d been a pretty shitty sibling to his sister, and this seemed like a good way to make up for it...at least in Ty’s mind.
“What’re you doing back in your dragon form though? Seriously kid, I know how great flying is, believe me, but you’ve gotta start getting used to your human form. I might not always be around to help and It could save your life one day, y’know?” His chastising was half-hearted too say the least. Truth was, the older dragon was a little jealous his young friend could get away with something he couldn’t. Damn, he missed flying...sometimes the modern age sucked balls.
Thankfully he was caught before he fell all the way to the hard floor. Garrett bundled and hugged the blanket he had been wrapped in as Pit scurried off while he listened. "I'm glad I didn't go anywhere." He smiled, hoping that the Captain's friend was okay. He must be a soldier too, lots of the soldiers left the camp without coming back. Garrett tried to comfort him, "Maybe he's just far away, like the horsemen, gone a lot." The boy sighed and smiled, "That's good right to be like him?"
“Yeah me too…. lil Buddy. Don’t you get too many ideas to go anywhere any time soon. Yeah?” Samuel patiently prompts. “I want to see you safely into your adulthood….” he adds. He had big hopes for Garret. Samuel would do everything in his power to see that the kid had the best life possible in the colonies.
“Aye. Perhaps that be it. Maybe he and Caleb went somewhere together….” Sammy returned with a widened grin.
“Absolutely. He was…. he is,” he corrects himself “a good and decent man. In fact, he be a far better man than I,” Samuel adds.
