#lostshoe #thelostshoeproject #lostshoeproject #RomeoPoodle • Inspired by and dedicated to @reeferboy • Dominic is yet another of my favorite IG photographers and music junkies to boot. • Near the beginning of Romeo's adoption, I used to have an old pair of Vans that I kept either outside on the back door step or right inside the door if it was raining. It didn't take him long to figure out that if he stole one of the shoes, I'd chase him around the backyard on a recovery mission. Eventually I just let him have the pair of shoes as toys and designated another pair as my around the yard kicks. I'm not sure where the other shoe disappeared to, but you can still see the remaining shoe here in this picture of a small area of our backyard garden. There are a few various balls scattered outside too that we play with, but I haven't seen Romeo pick this shoe up in years. He's now 3-1/2 years old. At some point, I guess @duchessweiner and I turned the old shoe into just another one of the garden mementos, because obviously, neither one of us has bothered to pick it up and throw it in the trash. Speaking for myself at least, every time I walk by it, it makes me smile, reminding me of puppy Romeo stealing it from under my feet and romping away with it, even throwing it up into the air, so proud of himself and looking like he's laughing at me.
