The Love That Vessel Needs Book Project

Hello fellow children of Sleep,

@vesselsscarlet and I had an idea that sparked back from the negative comments about Vessel specifically. And also now after Wembley, we thought about something nice we could do for him and inspired by similar projects, where fans gifted selfmade books to the band, we want to make a little book for Vessel. And we would love for everyone to participate.

We'd love for you to write a little appreciation letter for Vessel or just something you really want to tell him. Fanarts are also appreciated.

We will compile your messages in a little book and hopefully be able to get it to him. So this book will essentially be a big loveletter from the fandom to Vessel.

We just really want to make something nice for him, that will hopefully make him smile and feel loved and appreciated. He's given us so much through his art and we'd like to give him something back.

This post however is just to test the waters to see how many of you would be up for the idea. So we can get a feel of how many would like to participate, so we can plan in more detail and give you more information.

It would be great if you interact with either of our posts and tell us if you'd like to participate.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS - The Love Vessel Needs Book Project

Alright, so @murderofcrow and I decided that a nice little FAQ is the key for answering your (possible) questions.

Let's go :)

• How can I submit my art/letter? Is there an address to ship it to?

Nope, there will not be an address. The answer to this will be: DIGITAL

Please scan your handwritten letter(s)/physical art; jpeg files can ruin the look when it is printed. In case you want to type something, you are allowed to do so. Send us a PDF file then (it makes things the easiest because of formatting the text, and it already the looks the way you wanted it to look like; same goes for digital artwork[s]).

For your submission(s) that Crow and I will receive, please write in the title your tumblr username and TLVN Book. For Vessel, you can write down your name/alias/tumblr username and the country where you are from.

Submissions can be handed in: Tumblr Direct Messages (Crow: murderiscrow, Lia: vesselsscarlet) or on Lia's Discord (Username: vesselsscarlet)

• I cannot write. I suck at it. Also, I am not artistic. What can I do?

Don't worry, we gotcha.

You don't have to be Shakespeare, Goethe, Schiller. You also don't have to be Monet, Van Gogh, or Picasso. It is all about conveying your message for him. In any way possible. You also don't have to worry about spelling mistakes, and messing up the tenses. We don't mind this. As long as Vessel can understand it in any way possible, you will be fine. This is you, this is your way of expressing your love.

• Is there a limit for the submissions? When is the deadline for submitting it/them?

Nope, no limit at all.:)

The deadline will be announced, as soon as we know more. But it will be 4 weeks before one certain live ritual which we will announce (follow the tag, so you will be updated).

• How can I make sure that I won't miss anything important?

Follow the tag. That is all we can say.

• Will the book be printed?

No. It is a physical one which we will craft and design with our pure hands. It will take some time because we are working from two different cities on it. But this will work.

• Will you share progress and the result?

Of course we will:)

Do you know what's the best way to get a letter or something of the sort to the guys? Try to hand it to someone during one of their concerts or is there some other (better) way?

Hello Anon, ty for the ask 🖤 I do know of a couple ways to get a letter or item to Sleep Token, yeah. Letter-wise, this might be your best bet. It's a fanmade compilation of letters to Vessel specifically, that a couple of really awesome fans are creating. The link to that post has an FAQ about what is allowed and how to submit to the project, and you can also follow the #thelovevesselneedsbook tag here on Tumblr.

Another option, especially if it's a letter for one of the other band members or a gift, would be to seek out one of the tour crew. If you're going to one of the Australian or UK rituals, then you can try handing the item off to the band's photographer Adamross. He's been fairly chatty with fans in the past and I'm sure he's been asked to give the band notes and gifts before. His Instagram handle is @adamrosssi (but I think he's more active on his TikTok).

If you'll be attending the Teeth of God tour this May, you're in luck because the band's touring MUA, Shevy Marie, has been vocal about wanting to meet fans as well as offering to accept and hand off gifts and letters to the band. Aside from stage costumes and makeup, she helps run the merchandise booths, so you can find her there. Her Instagram handle is @shevyymariee if you want to give her a follow. She's typically vocal while on your and posts to her stories, but you might also be able to chat with her on one of her lives and ask her directly about handing off a letter or gift.

If you don't happen to run into either Adam or Shevy, you can still try to give the letter/item to whoever is working the merch booth for Sleep Token, just be aware that they are working and there's most likely going to be a long and impatient line behind you.

The last way that you might be able to get a letter or more specifically a gift, to Sleep Token would be by handing it to them directly while they're on stage. Obviously, this will only work if you're on the barricade or trust the crowd around you enough to pass whatever you're gifting up to the front. I can also almost guarantee that the security/bouncers between the barricade and stage will not accept and hand off gifts from fans unless specifically asked by the band or crew. I don't recommend this option, since it would be such a high-variable situation, but this is how fans have gotten things such as notes/letters/signs, stuffed animals, silly hats, and jewelry to the guys (but also, for the love of god, please do not throw things on stage, especially directly at one of the band members or their crew).

One last thing (and I know this wasn't part of the question at all but I'm seizing the opportunity to go off on this tangent): Whatever you give to the band, remember that they have to travel home with it. They're essentially living out of a tour bus and hotel rooms while on tour, and already have limited luggage space. On top of that, they'd have to pack the gift and get whatever it is through customs when they get back home to the UK.

The Love Vessel Needs Book Project Update

Hello everyone,

me and Lia (@vesselsscarlet) are still a bit overwhelmed by your positive feedback. Thank you to everyone who shared our posts and said they would like to join. This project is only possible with your help, so thank you so much!

We wanted to specify once more that this book is majorly a project for Vessel, you can still submit messages for the whole band too tho. Those will be included at the end of the book.

We are planning to make some sort of chapters, for example reasons we love Vessel, what his music means to us, etc. You can use these as pointers when you write but you don't have to necessarily. The most important thing is that it's your own genuine words and what YOU want him to know.

If you choose to submit a handwritten letter or traditional art, it would be greatly appreciated if you could scan it for a better quality print. And if you decide to type a letter it would be appreciated, if you submit it as a pdf file. That way it's already formatted how you want it to look like.

The Love Vessel Needs Book Project Update 02

Dear fellow children of Sleep,

there hasn’t been an update regarding #thelovevesselneeds book project for a while but rest assured we haven’t given up on it. So here comes an update:

We will be waiting for the end of April to see if they announce any European shows, so we can ideally attend a ritual together in Germany. We have however, for now, decided on a deadline for accepting entries, which is the:

18.08.2024

So if you still want to participate, please make sure to have your letter and/or fanart ready by then. If we can’t go together, Lia (@vesselsscarlet) will be attending the UK rituals, and hand the book over in Cardiff or London in November/December.

Since we live in two different states, we’d rather have a bit more time to plan and finish everything, than have too little time and be sloppy. This is an important project to us and we want to treat every entry with the respect that it deserves.

So you know about @vesselsscarlet and my book project for Vessel? This was my idea for the cover:

Don't judge it too hard, I didn't spend much time on it, I just wanted to show Lia my idea. We didn't decide on anything specific yet tho, so it might be a completely different cover in the end. The background will be dark tho, it won't be white lol. The runes say "You are so loved" btw.

If you happen to need more time, please let us know beforehand because we need to start to plan at some point, which takes time. We can’t do that without your submissions.
