reckless serenade | theloyalbeta
What had started as a sunny, pleasant day (or as pleasant as it could be for Derek Hale, it was all relative at that point) had swiftly taken a turn for the worst around noon as the skies opened up. The torrential downpour hadn't been on the weather report, though really it wasn't like Derek actually bothered with that in the first place seeing as his nose was a much better indicator than any educated guess. He hadn't bothered to dress appropriately though, betting that he and Isaac would be back from the grocer in plenty of time.
Of course though nothing ever went exactly to plan, considering the long lines, the traffic, and the popped tire they had experienced on their little outing. It hadn't taken long to get the tire switched, but between that and the delays at the store, by the time Derek had pulled into the loft parking it was pouring down.
He and Isaac had to make two trips each to get all the bags into the building just from sheer volume of them, but it didn't really matter, by the first go round they were already soaked to the bone. It was only icing on that particular cake, that the rain was basically sleet at that point, or at least it felt that way as it pelted into them, stinging their faces with the velocity of the drops.
By the time they reached the loft, Derek was feeling half annoyed and half like a drowned cat, which also contributed to his annoyance with the situation. He ignored it for the moment however, needing to get the perishables into the fridge or the freezer before he could get himself out of his sodden clothes and into the warm shower. With Isaac helping it took less time than he'd originally thought though and soon enough Derek was grabbing his former beta by the wrist to lead them both into to the far end of the loft.
"I'm going to grab a shower,"
He started as he quickly began to shuck off clothing left and right, though he did pause after the sodden shirt had been flung to the bathroom floor. Quirking a brow over at Isaac, Derek gave a small half smile.
