Week 5: Movement. Printmaking.
During Animation Week, I continued working on backgrounds for animation using screen printing method.
For this project, I was interested in finding a faster way to create stencils for screen printing. Instead of cutting them by hand, I wanted to try laser cutting to speed up the process.
I worked on this with Ann in The MakerStation, who assisted me with laser cutting. I didn’t do the cutting myself, but I would love to take a laser cutting course in the future if possible. It would be useful for similar projects and could open up new possibilities for experimentation.
I created several background variations. My original plan was to layer black, gray, and white backgrounds, but I also used some colored backgrounds from a different week and added extra elements just to experiment.
All these backgrounds are connected to the theme of entropy, the idea of chaotic movement.
