1) From Admin: - What foundation to use for your skin type ? If you have oily skin, you should avoid liquid foundation and go for a powder foundation. - Food: Coffee: coffee is a really dehydrating drink, for each cup that you drink, it's good to drink one cup of water right after to regain a bit of the water that you are loosing. Tip: (Lips) you can use your concealer above your mouth in order to brighten this area, but also to define better your lips before applying your lipstick. Rinse your face thoroughly after applying. Different textures are available for the different skin types: cleansing balms, creams, washes and bars. For dry skins: you should use a creamier texture. For oily skins: washes or bars - Exfoliant: It is to make your face look fresh and it removes dead skin cells. It also facilitates the penetration of moisturizers and treatments. How often someone should exfoliates depends on the skin type, some people exfoliate everyday, some others only twice a week (recommended). Don't over exfoliate! you could damage the skin. > AHAS and BHAS: are acids that accelerate the generation of new cells. You can find them in exfoliants. > AHAS = Alpha Hydroxy Acids. When looking for a product with this ingredient, look for glycolic acid, it is the most effective. - BHAS = Beta Hydroxy Acids. They are great for treating acne and clear pores. When looking for a product, look for Salicylic Acids. - Moisturizer: is used to bring water to the skin, soften its appearance and lock in the moisture that is already there. For normal to oily skin: choose a product that is oil-free For dry skin: use a more enriched formula - Sunscreen: Apply it 30mins before going outside. Daily: for limited exposure: apply your moiturizer with a SPF(sun protection factor) 15. Outdoor sun care: (when spending a significant amount of the day time outise, when swimming, playing tennis, etc.) increase your sunscreen protection to a SPF 30, apply it every two hours. Sensitive skin: look for Titanium Dioxide and Zinc Oxide. Vitamins: - Vitamin A: is very important, when looking for a product that contains vitamin A, look for retinol, retinyl acetate, retinol linoleate, retinyl palmitate. BUT: vitamin A increases your sensibility to sun, pair the product that you find with your sunscreen. - Retinoic Acid: is a derivative from vitamin A, it has been approved by the FDA to treat acne and skin aging. Tip: use Vitamin A and C separately, use one on one day and the other the next to avoid that they counteract each other. - Vitamin C: it is an antioxidant, it helps the skin produce collagen and elastin. When shopping, look for L-Ascorbic acid. Do not expose that product to the light, store it in a cool, dark place. xoxo
