[Woohoo! Dayum, girl, snaps for dedication!
thatslayerSo, not gonna lie. I know I’m multiverse and play with multiples, but I always get super intimidated by RPers who already sort of have a go-to Crowley, like this here Faith does. She is incredible, don’t get me wrong, but I feel like some sort of awkward interloper when we interact, since her go-to Crowley (the-rebel-you-know, methinks?) is still super-active and stuff. <:) I don’t want anyone to feel weird just because I’m here, y’know?, and I’ve seen that happen sometimes with RPers.Favorite type of interaction: The endless sass-offs between them.Reason Why I Do: This Faith down to the crossed t and dotted i; I adore reading her interactions! She’s spot-on and it’s incredible.Reason Why I Don’t: She already has a go-to Crowley, and I don’t want to interrupt that magical bond. :3Wishlist: For Faith in general, I’d love to see her learning from Crowley how best to take down a demon…then turning coat, rejoining Buffy, and using those methods to send them down. From there, we get this brilliant animosity and Mexican stand-off style showdowns between them, something not even the Buffster herself could enter or change, and that would be so full of yes I can hardly even think!Top Five: Flawlessly executed Faith-style sass; intriguing in-character dialogue; good flow to writing style; extreme badassery of character not woobified to better classify her along good/evil lines; clearly maintains a near-perfect grasp on character.
dealingindeathWhat, you want me to brag about Deanna now? ;P So here’s the thing: When it comes to my writing partners, despite my love for all of you, there just a few that I’d trust to hell and back, and Deanna is your leader. We haven’t known each other for long, but we’re close—so close!—and I would trust her with my life. She’s sweet, caring, kind, and compassionate, even though I know sometimes she’s worried that doesn’t carry across. She’s witty and funny and so very, very intelligent. She’s the light of my life. she has these characters; wow guys. Her characters. Unique individuals with fascinating stories all. They make me so happy; she makes me so happy. <3 And I don’t think I tell her often enough that she’s more than just, like, my best friend, y’know? I miss her a lot when I’m not in town. Believe it or not, I honestly make myself feel better sometimes, when I’m not in a place where I can reach out to anyone to make me feel better, by just imagining what it’ll be like when she finally comes to visit me in Houston. Housing’s going to be a problem, I know, but I like the idea of her coming out and keeping me calm in the car in traffic, and getting to drag her around to, like, the Chocolate Bar and House of Pie, Little Big’s and the Montrose area and that one mortuary museum she wants to see and hell, maybe we’ll just museum-hop for a day! I like to imagine her meeting C. (especially) and my roomie and the rest of the gang and all of us going out to Dot’s Coffee Shop or whatever and coming back and taking over the lounge to watch bad movies together—y’know? It just makes me feel better sometimes is all.Favorite Type of Interaction: James is so perpetually put off by Crowley that, to be perfectly honest, my actual favorite interactions with him are the ones between him and Kenz when, for example, they’re mocking each other and just hanging out.Reasons I Do: James is a brilliantly well-developed character that is one part subtle sass, one part bleeding hearted humanitarian, and one part put-upon middle man of a crazed family. He’s a lot of fun to watch in action!Reasons I Don’t: Interacting with James from Crowls is difficult, just because the two don’t seem to click in any significant way. They don’t not-click, they just don’t jive in any way that gives our interactions a spark—something I’m sure she’s noticed, too.Wishlist: I officially want Crowley coaching James through acting, because all of the yes moments ever.Top Five: Well-rounded OC maintaining flaws and strengths of varying degrees without ever once coming off as having too much of either; acceptance of identity even while questioning as much; unique occupation that needs to be played upon more—c’mon, guys, he’s a fucking mortician! that’s beautiful!; does not seek validation through constant romantic shipping, and is always open to forming all kinds of new relations; falls out of love as much as he falls in love, which is extraordinarily human and often overlooked in the RP community.
themanwiththestarOkay, so! Lucas here is a character that I still don’t know a lot about, but he’s pretty fucking cool from what I’ve seen and he makes a great baddie! I wish there was more of him on my dash, because he strikes me as an incredible antagonist for more “normal” characters to play off of; a lot of people, like me early on, have difficulty in seeing how to set their characters up as “ordinary in an extraordinary world”, and with antagonists like Lucas running around, a lot of the pressure is taken off to be immediately more than meets the eye, and time is given to build up into that with the eerie feel with which you so wonderfully write him! He’s frightening becauase he’s a little—off—which we need more of in this community! April is a fabulous person, sweet and genuine and highly complimentary, and I really enjoy our many conversations, as well as her open-mindedness in approaching fandoms, characters, and stories. She’s polite, but always gets her point across, and I just love it when she’s excited and high-energy, because it makes the world that much brighter!Favorite Type of Interaction: I’ve only interacted with him on Kenz, but wow, I already adore the palpable antagonism between them. He sets her on-edge and that’s so fucking cool, because he does it in a way that makes her uneasy as well as testy—rarer than it sounds!Reasons I Do: Kenz is just a human. She’s new to everything she does except for crime, so having someone (with the appearance of being) normal to antagonize her is just—yes. It’s awesome. I love it and I love you for doing it, because “normal” people deserve adversity among them, too!Reasons I Don’t: I can’t see us interacting much at all on this blog. I just can’t see a lot going on between two power-hungry men, perhaps because Lucas’ aims are somewhat more contained that Crowley’s. I can’t see a single reason for them to do more than acknowledge each other, as frustrating as I find that.Wishlist: I want to see Lucas up against Clan Vidal, actually. James or Madison or hell, maybe even Brendan. Someone calmer than Kenz that would be equally put-off by him, but less immediate to show it. Strained cordiality. Ass-loads of uncertainty. Prolonged attempts to be polite and not go running off. Yesssssss.Top Five: Intriguing lesser-known canon character that remains fully characterized; slow-building eeriness and that same sort of smiling charm that makes for bitchin’ villainy because they just don’t appear villainous; amazingly sweet and thoughtful writer who puts a lot of time and effort into her character and his replies; (current) lack of romantic interest/aims towards characters (hard to find, but makes for a more comfortable zone when you’re just like, holy crap!, i don’t feel pressure about shipping here!); the sense of slight wrongness to everything Lucas does, reminiscent for me of Stephen King’s Needful Things, makes for a more intriguing way to tackle “evil” and “villainy” in writing.
