Do you drink the blood of orphans?
[You know, I did drink the blood of orphans back in the day. Going on May, it’ll be seven years since I switched to drinking soy substitute orphan blood.]

[Punch in the face meme for @themarkofkaine! This response is really shitty and vague because I haven’t read enough of S.H.I.E.L.D. stuff in the comics to see how redshirt nameless agents get shit done. References to @notthescarsyoucansee]
Superheroes hit like a ton of bricks: sometimes literally. Whether one of them was going to fall out of the sky and on top of you while screaming, or simply punch you in the face for being in the wrong place at the wrong time remained to be seen. When working for S.H.I.E.L.D., suffering superhuman-related trauma was only a matter of time. Roy had been lucky up until then, but–
Well–Palmer’s number was up.
As the black-and-red-clad fist drove into the agent’s jaw, Roy’s head snapped back in its protective headgear. The shot he’d been about to take went wide as his finger squeezed the trigger, firing a loud pop into the night. He stumbled back one or two places, bleeding profusely from a clearly broken nose, but admirably still on his feet. Unfortunately, neither his dignity nor his very human body were inclined to do him any favors that night. Before he pitched forward, eyes rolling back in his head, Roy managed to think: ‘I’m a dead man.’
(Anna found ten minutes later in a pile of garbage water, unconscious and breathing from his mouth.)
