Hi!
I've seen your truly exhaustive list of things you like about Brador xD He's such a pathetic wet creature man and I love him so much <3 I'm really curious on how you feel about the other main character in your fanfic, Djura! What are your thoughts on him? Also, you don't have to answer right away, so please take your time :)
That would be it, for now <3
Much love themasterofruins17
HELLO!!!!
Brador and Djura are constantly flipping spots for who's my #1 favorite Bloodborne character! (While Eileen and Lady Maria constantly flip for #2, funnily enough)
I absolutely love Djura. He is a beacon of hope in Yharnam. The game's item descriptions outright call him foolish for his kindness, and yet there's evidence that beasts are indeed people, or at least hold some semblance of a consciousness. Take for instance, the fact that Vicar Amelia can pray in her boss fight and clutches her pendant the whole time, or the Suspicious Beggar and everything about him. I find his morals very interesting- he encourages the hunter to explore the dream and continue to hunt beasts outside of Old Yharnam, meaning he acknowledges that beasts are a danger to Yharnam's citizens, but the ones under his care? Those are his people. They won't hurt anyone. They stay in Old Yharnam, knowing Djura feeds and protects them, they don't hunt the people living above. His dialogue when you befriend him warms my heart every time I hear him, he really is an uncle of sorts.
And yet, if the hunter purposely betrays Djura by attacking a beast after befriending him, he flips completely and seems delighted that he can kill you and his beasts get to eat you! He can be just as vicious and sadistic as any other hunter. He's the camera guy filming the wolf documentary flipping off the other guy who's filming the deer documentary, lol. He understands the nature of the beasts, their needs and everything. He's not dumb and he's not gonna force them to eat nothing but veggies.
Then the fact that he is a Powder Keg. He's evidently a creative and eccentric person because of that, he must've been exciting to be around back in the day! Not a boring day around someone who's constantly coming up with new ideas for doohickies and blowing shit up.
He is such a multifaceted character in a game where NPCs get about 5 minutes to shine. I can say that about a lot of NPCs, I think Fromsoft is great at putting so much character in such little dialogue. I also just love kind and sweet characters in these games, proof that it can prevail in a world of darkness. That there's always hope. So, I'm also attached to characters like Big Boggart, Zorayas, Anri of Astora, etc etc.
And then all my headcanons about him. ALL MY HEADCANONS!!!!!!!!!! I have too many. I delve into just about all of them in my fic, even the NSFW ones akdjdbsksj. Besides the overly sexually explicit ones, I don't think I've left any big ones out out. His favorite foods, eating habits, hobbies and skills, backstory, family background... He's definitely the most thought I've ever put into a character who isn't my own. Yes. Even more than Brador. Sometimes some of the headcanons I have for Brador boil down to "Wouldn't it be hilarious if ___?" Lol
Also, he's just hot. He's one of the hottest old men I have ever seen. Just look at those pants, oh my God lol.
Despite everything that's happened to him, the trauma, all those he's killed, he stepped up to protect those in need. He is genuinely a good person and a great character. If he existed IRL I would love to meet him. In summary, I love him for his kindness and that he's never afraid to do the right thing.
Except, you know, be honest with Brador that he knows the truth-- *gets shot*
*crawls back* anyway thank you for giving me an excuse to gush about him lol
