Update on Tumblr Theme Reset Glitch

Lydia White, Tumblr's Product Design Lead, replied to my workaround post for the Tumblr Theme Reset Glitch with this advice:

“No themes are actually lost. This issue should fix itself with time or if you adjust any settings (since it resets the cache).”

Thanks for the tip, @lydia! If you encounter the theme reset, let me know if making a settings change restored your theme.

Themes going stupid

So for some craptastic reason my blogs decided to shit themselves and I had to redo all my theme colours and settings from default. On the upside, I bothered to give them all thematic lip icons.

Tumblr Theme Reset Glitch

Keep an eye on your blog theme. Tumblr has a recent glitch where some blog themes and theme settings are resetting to their defaults. If this bug strikes your blog, try recovering your custom theme to its latest backup.

From the "Recover Custom Theme" page, choose your blog from the drop-down menu (if needed). Click the “View backups” button. Revert to the latest theme backup then check your blog theme.

If the reversion doesn’t work, seek a cached copy of your blog and check the HTML source to manually restore your theme.

So, apparently, Tumblr lost data of some accounts and some tumblr themes were reset. This blog was one of the “lucky” ones, and I just saw minutes ago. I’m sorry for any incovenience that this could have caused, but it’s everything fine now. I hope this doesn’t happen again. 😪 Anyways, happy Battleground day! 😄

My blog theme has been reset to default settings. 

Once again I am convinced that things happen for a reason. I’ve been thinking of changing my theme for a long time, but never got down to do it. Now I have a real reason! I’ll be happy if you excuse me for the strange things that are now on my blog which you haven’t seen before. I’ll fix it as soon as I get a chance to do it! Thank you and I wish you happiness!

UPDATE: Just saw that I’m not the only one having this problem. Well, I think we will have a theme change after all.
