Dani talking about what it was like to be injured right after winning his 125cc title. Interviewer: What was it like to go from maximum joy to the accident? How did you feel? Dani: Well, winning the championship after seeking it for so long... Seeking it, working hard and being excited about it... Right when it happens and you start to reap the fruits... It's over. Three days and out. Actually, I think there were five days. It was over. I fell and I hurt really bad. It was the first time that I hurt myself and I was far from home... Well, it was a new situation. I didn't understand why, if you do things well, with humility, work, effort, without cheating, always with respect... That is, following the right path. Then why? It didn't match up. I didn't understand. Why did I have to be punished? I always looked for the meaning of what was happening to me.
Dani, Alberto and Dani's mom talk about the crash that caused him to break both of his ankles at the end of the 125cc season. Part 1 Transcription: Dani: I fell, I was badly hurt. It was the first time I hurt myself. Alberto Puig: That was tough. But, luckily, we had already won the championship the week before in Malaysia. It was difficult, I remember that we had to stay in Australia. He had really, really hurt himself, both ankles. He was lucky to have an incredible doctor. When you need emergency surgery and it goes well, it's great. Basila Ramal, Dani's mom: I remember well that he did his exercises. One day he said "Mama? do you think I'll be the same as before?" and I said "No, you won't be the same, you'll be much better."
