14 Days of the Mentalist - #thementalist2017 Day 5 - A shipper scene
A scene that makes a shipper’s heart sink, and is so poignant and hard to watch, because you hope every second that maybe they will tell each other some important words, and then they don’t. Their eyes do, expressing what they don’t think they have a right to say, and they part, perhaps not to see each other ever again, having no chance to express what they feel. A threshold of the show, a moment when Jane and Lisbon are so close – because it’s been their fight for years – and so far from each other, with Jane’s words ‘you knew this day was coming’ sounding like a goodbye, so hopeless.

14 days of The Mentalist - Day 8 - an underrated moment
5x02 Devil’s Cherry
- Hello, I'm his daughter, Charlotte. - I’ve heard so much about you, it’s nice to meet you.
I really like this moment because it shows that, even though Jane never talks about his family, Lisbon sees and feels them as real, palpable presences. I know she always saw it that way, obviously, but here it's shown, which I find sweet and special. And through Lisbon's words, Jane's family becomes more humanized than usual, which feels refreshing. All in all, for me, the moment really stands out.
(I know this is Jane’s dream, but I think it’s Lisbon in her essence)
