I was listening to God Games on loop again and got reminded of one of my first exposures to Greek mythology, from one of the icons of Chilean comic books, the adventures of Mampato and Ogú, about a kid from the twentieth century who took his caveman friend Ogú (He was from a tribe called the Gola Gola) on adventures through space and time (Ogú by the way has no idea of the concept of time travel, even when Mampato tried to explain it once, he just thinks they're traveling very fast and very, very fast, it leads to him deciding to try to walk back home when someone in an adventure got angry at him.

There's also the occasional presence of Rena, a telepathic girl from the 40th century, but I'm afraid that, like most of the series, we're gonna have to ignore her for this.

I specifically mean their second Greek mythology themed adventure, where they're try to take an Athena statue they helped steal during the war of Troy to Ithaca as a favor to Odysseus (who they refer to by his Roman name the whole time)

Is the series perfect? Absolutely the fuck not, in this particular story they escape captivity from the Amazons by throwing a bunch of lizards they caught at them, because according to Mampato all girls are grossed out by them... It works (Themo Lobos I have the feeling Tumblr would've blown your mind).

I can't however not give kudos to Themo Lobos for his creativity sometimes, after the protagonists (which include a philosopher named Platócrates this time, they found him and had to take him along) end up in Olympus, they're sent to talk to Zeus himself, and the interaction goes more or less like this.

Athena: Hey dad, these earthl- these mortals are taking this statue of my to my buddy Ulysses's home, can you give them your protect-

Zeus: Girl I don't care, mortals bore the crap out of me, Ares, kill them

Area: *Deadass pointing a ray gun at them"

Mampato, who's usually a smart, respectful kid, but I must point out he's also Chilean: Oh yeah I remembered the word I was thinking of, you're a bunch of decadents

Zeus: THE AUDACITY OF THIS...! DECADENTS? US?! THE GODS?! WE WHO CAN CREATE LIFE?! WE-

Hera: No, he's right, we're a race in decadence and have meddled with mortal affairs for far too long, come with me

*outside of the room*

Hera: Kid what-

Mampato: Listen ma'am, I figured out the deal with all of you when I saw that structure over there

Hera, probably internally sweating: That's a temple

Mampato: Ma'am I'm from the twentieth century I know a U.F.O. When I see it
