*ANNOUNCEMENT* Hello fellow Dickensians! It's 10/10 so you know what that means! We can share with all our amazing folks where we'll be this #Christmas, and we could NOT be more excited! We have been invited to perform at The Morgan Library & Museum in New York, where the original handwritten manuscript of 'A Christmas Carol' is lovingly preserved and kept. For those who have been a part of Everyone's Carol in any way, be it cast or crew, volunteer, or audience member, you’ll know that the book is at the heart of everything we do, with every word coming from the #original text. The Morgan also played a pivotal role in making Everyone’s Carol a reality. Within its beautiful walls, our show creator Laurie Strickland wandered and sat, captivated by the pages of the Carol as somewhere within the idea of our #production slowly started to take root. Six years later and we could not be more honoured and humbled to be asked to perform where it all began! The #performance will be held on Friday 15th December 2017 at 6:30pm. Tickets are $25; $20 for members, $10 for children 12 and under. To purchase tickets, please visit the Morgan website. The link is in our bio and can also be found here: If you would like to #support our work this Christmas please do so by visiting our Fractured Atlas page, https://www.fracturedatlas.org/site/fiscal/profile?id=10563. We are a 501(c)(3) public charity and all #contributions are tax-deductible. Any amount, however big or small, is a gift and will go a long way to supporting the work we do. We have a lot more exciting news to share with you all about our production this year, including an announcement about upcoming #auditions in #NYC for members of our 2017 ensemble, which looks to be our most exciting ever, with people from every age group and across a multitude of #cultures. Please be on the lookout for more info. At the end of this week we will be sending out our Everyone’s Carol Newsletter with lots of details so if you’re not yet subscribed drop us a message and we’ll add you to the list! 'She Who Wrote'
‘She Who Wrote’
Enheduanna, the first named author in world history, was a remarkable woman who lived around 2300 BCE. She was the daughter of Sargon of Akkad, who appointed her as high priestess of the Nanna Temple in Ur. Her writings include the Exaltation of Inanna, the Temple Hymns, Inanna and Ebih, and other attributed works. Enheduanna has been on my mind since I visited the Morgan Library & Museum’s…

We had a short day at work today so I went to visit #TheMorganLibrary for my very first time. It’s absolutely extraordinary. It’s physically beautiful and houses some of the most incredible books and artifacts on earth. There were only about 180 #GutenbergBibles in the original press run, about 50 still exist today — #TheMorgan has three of them. And that just scratches the surface of what’s here. #Books #Antiquities #Library @themorganlibrary (at The Morgan Library & Museum) https://www.instagram.com/p/B8klrpZBqrF/?igshid=898bc5ux1blm
Did You Know: Tolkien didn't just build worlds with words: he was also a skilled artist! 🎨 The Morgan Library & Museum's Tolkien: Maker of Middle-Earth exhibit is in its final days, and so incredibly worth the visit. 🐲 Rare letters, maps, manuscripts, notes and original Tolkien art and artifacts make this exhibit a once-in-a-lifetime Do Not Miss for nerds both casual and hardcore. It runs through May 12th at The Morgan in NYC, after which it disappears into the fires of Mount Doom. 🔥 #Tolkien #themorgan #nyc #middlearth #lotr #lordoftherings #jrrtolkien #farpointtoys (at The Morgan Library & Museum) https://www.instagram.com/p/BxGaS5sl2Mv/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=p01tfhksccor
