Deep in her work with designs in one hand and her phone in the other, Velvette came into her office without any expectation to someone being there. However, when the voice alerted her, one she was not too keen on hearing again, she almost dropped her papers.

"The fuck are you do--" She bit her tongue, knowing just how horribly it went the last time she blatantly lashed at him. Though she had been recklessly stupid as of late, she was trying to be smarter about it. She was the backbone of the Vees and the best of the three arguably after all.

"I see you found my bloody office, oh mighty King," she still at least had some sass, rolling her eyes while trying to figure out why he would be here. "Here to have your suit fitted or a new style? The Vees can provide anything." She throws out assumptions off the bat to hide any nerves she may have had. She was the baddest bitch around, she shouldn't be afraid.

With all of the chaos that had taken place over the last hour or two, Charlie was feeling very much alone. So much had changed in such a short amount of time and she didn't feel ready for any of what she is expected to have to do or be.

The only thing she really had left of her dad was the crown, that had transformed to fit her head and style, and his blood covering her. As she hugged herself close in child-like self-soothing, she noticed a movement.

Oh.

She'd completely forgotten about Monty.

Now that would be reason 4028 to feel bad right now, it seems.

"Monty..." Her voice was barely a whisper, not so much devoid of emotion as it was a broken dam that had long since drained and left to ruin. She didn't know what to say. What could she say?

Lucifer had been walking through the hotel, after talking to Charlie about putting in a new pool when he noticed a small Imp reading a book and oh!

He stopped and looked over her shoulder , “Are those stars?!?!”

Clem jumped as she heard Lucifer. She was just sat in the lobby, trying to read some nice looking book about stars... honestly she was more invested in the pictures.

"Well... the book says they are. I've never seen them, but most books show them like this." Clem said, "I mean, they're burning balls of gas billions of lightyears away from Earth, but they're beautiful. And Earth's star, the sun is meant to feel warm on your skin."

That tone he had, it made her worry. Was he going to leave again..so soon? Her heart felt fragile but kept that facade active as she forced a small smile while walking around him to take his hand.

"Before you do, don't you want to sit somewhere comfortable? Come, let us speak in our study."

 ✞ The request makes him tense, immediately taken by a strange bitterness he can't quite name, and so cannot excuse-- which of course, only frustrates him worse. He instinctively reaches to protect the angel with his hands, but... his virtues demand he be reasonable. Or, at least true to his word. " Wait, wait-- but-- have you been good, brother? You promise? No... innocent blood? No... turning people-- even if they ask for it? Those were the parameters for sharing, I remind you! " Heartburn? He prayed like a desperate man until his very tongue bubbled to call upon this angel! He couldn't taste for days after! But, the stolen valor isn't really why he's grown so attached, of course.

She wasn’t about to correct him, not this late at night. It had become an almost endearing nickname for her. A gift from the king himself.

Her eyes drifted to the half empty pot of coffee knowing it was long since cold, despite it all she poured herself a cup and took a sip of the dark liquid. Sleep had never come easy ever since the battle making sure Charlie was comforted and not crying herself to sleep after all that she lost.

“Eh, its been too quiet, I find it hard to sleep.”
