luke never makes julie wonder if he supports her or not because he’s always giving her little words of encouragement. you’re a star, julie, you got this, i wouldn’t have given you the song if i didn’t think you were gonna rock it, etc. and then it’s like??? mitch and emily never told luke how extremely talented he was and he knows what it feels like to be left wondering or not good enough. he never wants julie to feel that way.
especially since julie is in this fragile state with her emotions and music, luke needs her to know that she is talented and that music is not worth giving up. from the minute julie told him that her mom was gone, he was on team “i’m gonna support julie in whatever way i can because i know what it feels like to not have that support.” he wants to smother her with love in the same way that sunset curve smothered him with love and it makes me very emo. we love one supportive boyfriend in this house and his name is luke patterson <3
