He blinks hard. It was all washed-out shadows and flashes of white, like someone’s taken a lighter to the edge of his vision. His body didn’t feel like his anymore. It felt more like a failing system. His limbs are cold, the blood loss making him sluggish and slow and stupid, but the pain won’t let him go. He was almost glad for it. He didn’t want it to.
