The original version of Horatio killing his father is from Nexus (Volume 1) #3. It has all the same elements and even some angles as in Nexus: The Origin, but it doesn’t feel as dramatic. It’s still Steve Rude art and mighty powerful.

My favorite page from Nexus: The Origin #1–the moment right before Horatio kills his father. The tension is much greater in these panels than when Hugh Haynes drew the same sequence in Nexus #78. That’s why Rude is a genius. I own this page of original art. Just a masterpiece.
