Routine for a Happier Life
Ever felt so down that you felt you could not possibly go back to being happy again? Well, here is the place for you. I have been there and understand there are only a few proven ways to overcome that feeling of abyss called dark depression. The first tried and true way is the following tips I will give you.
1) Detach from the sources of sadness. If that means deactivating your facebook account for a while, not looking at people’s apathetic faces in public until you feel better, or refraining from speaking to certain people that bring your energy down or they simply drain you…. that is what you must do. This is the first crucial step to getting back to your center gravity, your point of well being. You must cut out all the toxic things, people and places in your life.
2) Clean your surroundings. A clean house is a clean mind….a clutter house is a cluttered mind. And when your mind is cluttered, you do not feel good emotionally, whether you are conscious of this or not. You can either become a minimalist or a neat freak or however you choose the process of cleaning your home, but just do it. I promise you it is therapeutic and purging for the soul/emotions/and the mind.
3) Get a daily routine of Meditation/Prayer/ Exercise/ and something positive you enjoy doing. It can be anything but the key emotion you must feel is a sensation of freedom, calm, a rising of the energy, and lifted vibration, a radiance, a sense of being at one with yourself and at peace with the moment. An activity you can lose yourself in also is a pretty good start…because these activities that cause “flow” where you lose track of time and enjoy it so much the rest of the world disappears, these activities are going to be your saving grace. These activities are what will bring you back from the slumbers of depression into the light of happiness and joy, productivity and creativity and contribution to yourself and the world.
4) Say positive Mantras: Talk to yourself out loud. For example, when you wake in the morning…as you are making your cup of coffee, say out loud, “I am strong, wonderfully and fearfully created, I am rising my vibrations, I am creating love every moment of the day, I am light and I give light and only receive light. I will let the God in me shine bright today with acts of kindness. I will not allow any negativity to penetrate my being and the light that surrounds me. I will be better today than I was yesterday, etc.” And say it until you believe it within your being. You may start the affirmations doubting but by the time you finish them you should believe wholeheartedly that what you said will be.
Conclusion: There are many ways to climb out of depression, but it takes strength, courage and the will to be emotionally well. We must never be lazy when it comes to feeding our souls. When we starve our souls, that is when we become depressed. So I encourage you to give your mind and spirit the same nourishment you give to your body and surely you will be well on your way to a much happier radiant human being.
