I have a question, do you know how long have Rhodey and Carol been a thing? I started reading Captain Marvel with this last volume, and Rhodey hasn't had a very notorious presence in comics this past years. Thanks!

Rhodey and Carol weren’t a thing until the start of this most recent Captain Marvel run.  

They actually haven’t had many interactions in the past.  Though, I assume there has always been a respect between them. 

There was an offhand comment written for Carol in the last Captain Marvel run, about wanting to see a shirtless War Machine.  and a lot of fans thought it was fun and liked the idea of Carol/Rhodey.  And its my opinion that the entire thing really spawned from there. 

Ales Kot, the writer of the Iron Patriot mini, revealed in early Q&A about that book, that he and Deconnick had talked about Carol & Rhodey, and that both books were going to work their relationship in.  Sadly, the Iron Patriot book never got far enough to explore that at all.  So, we are only left with what Deconnick has given us in this Captain Marvel run, and no other book has seemed to touch it yet.

I'm ok with Slott. But if he was to be replaced, Al Ewing seems like a good choice. I'm not sure if it's because I want Al Ewing to write every single Marvel book or just because he's good. Chris Yost also maybe.
