It was all going so wrong. Felicity had been doing so well - or at least she thought she had been - with keeping her power under control, having clamped down on it and tightened the already taut leash she held it on. Increasing her control exercises and limiting using her power to only in the privacy and safety of her apartment. That should have been enough.
But the gaping hole in the side exterior wall of the small bar and the two dead people where harsh truths that it was far from enough. One of them had been a cop too.
And there couldn’t have been a worse time for her to lose control. It was already dangerous enough for her to be out and about as an unknown and unregistered Meta. Yet there she was, the damage seeming to point directly to her like her own personalized neon sign: Here’s the out of control Metahuman!
Having run as soon as she realized what she’d done, Fel had ducked into one of the more secluded (if a bitch sketchy) side alleys as soon as she felt she was far enough away from the scene to lay low. She’d curled up and tried to make herself small and unnoticeable, but when she heard the sound of footsteps coming from the mouth of the alley her head jerked up, face pale and sweaty and eyes still glowing vibrant red with energy. The air around her shifted and seemed unstable, the gravity warped and greater than it should have been.
“Don’t come any closer,” she warned in between heavy breaths. “Please, just…stay back.”
